Terms of Use
Last updated: 7 October 2026
These terms apply to the PrayerWake app for iOS, iPadOS and Android (“the app”) and to this website. By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Licence
PrayerWake grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If you downloaded it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. These terms add to those agreements; where they conflict, the store agreement applies.
2. Price
The app is free and contains no advertising. If we ever offer optional paid features, their price and terms will be shown clearly before you buy, and the core features will remain free.
3. Prayer times and religious content
Prayer times are calculated from your location, the calculation method and the settings you choose. Calculations are estimates and may differ from your local mosque or authority by a few minutes, and more at high latitudes. Please verify the times with your local mosque or a trusted authority, and adjust the settings in the app if needed.
Adhkar are provided with Arabic text, meanings and references for convenience. Translations convey the general meaning and are not a substitute for scholarly guidance. The app does not give religious rulings (fatwa).
4. Alarms and notifications
We work hard to make alarms reliable, but they depend on your device, its operating system, battery and power-saving settings, permissions, volume, Focus or Do Not Disturb settings, and manufacturer restrictions that are outside our control. Alarms may be delayed or not ring, for example if the device is off, the app’s permissions are revoked, or the system stops the app. Do not rely on the app as your only means of waking up where missing an alarm could cause harm, loss or danger.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell or rent the app, except as allowed by law;
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract its source code, except as allowed by law;
- use the app in a way that breaks the law or the rights of others.
6. Intellectual property
The app, its design, name and logo belong to PrayerWake. Quranic text, hadith and adhkar are part of a shared heritage; references are given where available. Open-source components are used under their own licences.
7. Privacy
The app does not collect personal data. See our Privacy Policy for how information is handled.
8. No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that prayer times or alarms will be accurate or timely in every case.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, PrayerWake is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from a missed, late or inaccurate alarm, notification or prayer time, or from your use of or inability to use the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app (if any). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
10. Changes and ending
We may update the app or these terms. We will post changes here with a new date; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may end this licence if you break these terms.
